Imaging Tower

The Scheffer International (SI) Portable Imaging Tower is a versatile and modular solution designed for high-performance inkjet imaging applications. It is engineered to accommodate Kodak 6240, S10, or S20 inkjet heads, offering both simplex (single-side) and duplex (double-side) imaging configurations to meet various production requirements.

Simplex Configurations

Standard Simplex Imaging Tower

The SI Portable Simplex Imaging Tower is tailored for simplex top or bottom side imaging. Its standard configuration features two (2) rails, each equipped with two (2) motorized carriages. Each rail can hold up to three (3) buckets, allowing for a total of six (6) inkjet heads. The design includes all necessary idler rollers to support top or bottom side imaging applications.

Expanding Simplex for Duplex Imaging

For duplex (top and bottom side) imaging, a second SI Portable Simplex Imaging Tower can be added. When these two towers are positioned together, they image both sides of the web with six heads per side, totaling twelve inkjet heads. Alternatively, when placed end-to-end, both towers can image a single side of the web using all twelve heads.

Duplex Configurations

Single Drawer Extension Module

The SI Portable Simplex Imaging Tower equipped with the Single Drawer Extension Module is designed for full duplex imaging. The standard configuration includes four rails on each side, with three motorized carriages per rail. Each carriage can hold up to three buckets, supporting a total of twelve inkjet heads. This setup also includes all necessary idler rollers for top and bottom side imaging.

• 4 rails per side, each with 3 motorized carriages
• Up to 3 buckets per rail (12 inkjet heads total)
• Complete idler rollers for duplex imaging

Enhanced Duplex Capacity

Adding a second SI Portable Simplex Imaging Tower with Single Drawer Extension Module increases the duplex imaging capability to twenty-four inkjet heads. Placing both towers together enables top and bottom side imaging with twelve heads per side. When arranged end-to-end, both towers can image a single side of the web using all twenty-four heads.

Standard Features

• Upper frame with imaging head bucket drawers, mounted on linear bearings and full-length slides for easy servicing from the operator side aisle
• Carriages equipped with manual adjustments for vertical and web-direction movement to assist registration with non-Kodak software
• Individual motorized side-lay movement of carriages for precise stitching positioning (1/2 dot per 600 DPI resolution)
• One (1) driven water-cooled chill roll with a color touch HMI and control station for motor speed control
• Frames prepared for an optional second chill roller
• Designed to accept a nine (9)-zone, two-pass IR Dryer with a slide-out drawer for easy dryer lamp access
• Docking stations for multiple locations, power connectors for docking, and a pin-and-puck system for accurate leveling and positioning; forklift inserts for portability
